Goldenloch august 05 week 29
Well the brilliant bright sunshine seems to have gone, replaced with cloudy pleasant warm days, the fishing has gone up a gear to be in near perfect conditions, this fact is pretty much bourne up by the returns that are coming of the water, everyone in the past week have had more or less maximum catches, our beginner from last week Andrew Howison , St Andrews has been back three times to try and recatch the big fish that Tommy kindly released back to the wild for him, Andrew hasn’t caught his big fish but has caught 5 others and although he has been told that is exceptionally good for a beginner, he is now obsessed with catching that big fish, with a new rod, flies and a starter kit from eBay he is determined that the one that escaped him is going to be his, the Khats whiskers were here on there annual overnight camping trip and this year managed a fair amount of fishing with everyone pretty happy and quite a few fish caught all seemed pleased, and at least the boys in blue didn’t turn up this time, the weed this year has been more vigorous than ever and with another week of cutting and pulling it out past, I reckon we are well on top of the situation its just annoying that some anglers stop coming because they cant fish in a little bit of weed, the ones that are coming say the fishing is at its best, so work that one out, I have noticed however that in a few of the really weedy patches where we have not cut and left for the fish to hide from the sun in, that the weed has started to lie down, this is normal and is the start of the weed dying back after shedding its seeds which we are pulling out by the barrow load, if anyone wants the perfect mulch just come and help yourself.
