Goldenloch june 03 / 2013 week 20
The last week at the Goldenloch has been in near perfect fishing conditions, with the outside temperature well up into the high teens, the fish have responded well by showing in all areas, catches have been excellent with some guys getting easily getting 9 or more fish, but its not really that easy, for a start there is a massive abundance of natural feeding in the water, with tadpoles small shrimps, buzzers of every shape and size, the fish are well fed and are obviously not that interested in much else so its up to the angler to then figure out the right depth and method to see what he can do to get his catch, we had Bell Baxter High School here on Friday past and the lads had a great day with some taking to fishing basically like a duck to water catches were good and a few new converts to the sport I feel were gained, with more fish due this week and the weather set to stay warm I would like to think that there are really some very enjoyable days in the foreseeable future, Fishing at a place like we have here is for pleasure and relaxation and I would like to think that this last week has been pretty good, yesterday Sunday being a classic day we had bright sunshine, yet occasionally a big cloud would roll along and then the fish would start to show as obviously the flies in realising the darker day was their opportunity to hatch made there way to the surface and spread their wings only to be eaten by either a bird or a fish and the fish were then being caught by some guy in a boat or on the bank yeah its all in a days fun roll on the Summer. A proper nuisance this year is the return of the blanket algae however this week we are having a serious amount of effort into removing it from the water its not that hard it just requires manpower.
