Goldenloch april 08/ 2013 week 12
With the weather being the biggest single factor just now regarding the fishing it was no surprise on Sunday morning whilst watching the early morning TV weather girl and she actually said “for all those husbands thinking of going fishing they would be better staying at home and taking their partner shopping” I just about dropped my coffee, continuing to watch, it was obvious by the wind directions and what she was saying it was going to be a bitter cold day again, and she was right, on venturing outside the air temperature from the previous few days was a lot colder and there was now a wind which there hadn’t been all week, the fishing this past week has been superb with anglers getting full bags and returning half a dozen trout to fight again everyone very pleased and happy with there catches, now today it would be back to Baltic fishing and I was right with 10 on the loch there was few getting caught however interestingly there were loads of fish to be seen breaking the surface and mulling about one chap even stating that there was a hatch of brown ??? By mid day people were in the bothy not for a brew but just to hold a hot cup. Lindores Loch our nieghbour and famous fly fishing venue of old reopens its doors again to-day, new management, I believe and I am reliably informed has been restocked with a thousand trout, it also has 4 or 5 boats which have been refurbished, Lindores which has been closed for quite a few years had a very devout following of hardy keen anglers and I am sure they will be over the moon for its return as a fly fishing venue, we wish it well and hope that it rekindles at lot of anglers to get their gear out from the garage.
