Goldenloch april 01/ 2013 week 11
Its been a good weekends fishing with a fair bit of hilarity the fish were playing and quite a few lads did very well, Saturday was a bit quiet with only a couple turning up but it was really cold with the loch covered with a 1cm covering of ice, which I broke up with a boat and it vanished pretty quick, I wasn’t really expecting many to want and come fishing when its like that, but they both did well and caught 4 or 5 each, Sunday morning the water was 50% covered in thin ice which I again broke with the boat, slightly warmer start to the day and with a dozen or so arriving it was nice to see so many especially even with it being so cold, the days fishing started slow on the boats with Andy Fraser getting one and his partner Bob Bruce still on a blank which he managed to remedy with a catch of 2 fish before the day was finished, beginners were on the bank with one getting tuition and another on his first ever fishing trip with a friend and they managed 3, Iain and Rene arriving from Bridge of Earn were eager to fish but about the same time as there arrival the temperature seemed to drop about 4 or 5 degrees this didn’t stop the fish but was enough to make the cold bite just that little bit harder, a lad from Perth arrived and started fishing from the bank, which really started to annoy poor Bob as this guy just caught fish after fish, being such a good sport Bob just took it on the chin and was rewarded with another fish a good 3 lb rainbow rewarding him for his polite gentlemanly manner.
