Goldenloch september 10 / 2012 week 37
Still having very changeable days at the Goldenloch, early morning is good till about 9 / 10 with fish rising and jumping, although its wet flies and nymphs that they are taking, none of the fancy things seem to be working, after that until evening the fish seem to go much deeper and although they are getting caught its more random, for example two lads must have found a pod of fish on Thursday, whilst they were catching at nearly every cast, on the bank for about two hours nothing moved and then without any warning one of our beginners had two at once, evening fishing is still by far the most exciting just now, with hundreds of fish showing on, or just under the surface, Friday night saw a couple of lads not know where to cast as there were fish everywhere, I could hear them on the boat just havin a laugh as they kept getting all tangled up in the grey dark, but some nights it just doesn’t happen, last night Sunday, we had a horrible wind all day that kept changing direction and then it was very cold late on, eventually it rained and the rise just didn’t happen like it had been for the last two weeks, what happened was we had fish come up, cruise and then just vanish back down into the loch, but this morning I went down at 8 to get the book and we had loads of fish showing all over so the one cold day blip seems to be over.
