Goldenloch august 08 / 2012 week 32
It’s a long haul running a fishery, I think its pretty safe to say that we are starting to get back to normal, this past weekend has been pretty good, we were reasonably busy and people were catching fish, mostly in the mornings and mostly from the boats, definitely it was a very enjoyable days for all, made good by the very pleasant weather and the fact that the weekend seemed to be quite idyllic, if you know what I mean, but I am aware that the old big fish that used to haunt the loch and give anglers a run for their money are no longer hanging about and that everything we have is new, I suppose a bit like all young people living in a new town but they are beginning to act like they should, Friday night saw a couple of anglers late on about 9pm start catching using dries, Don Stewart and John Grey also enjoyed a few hours with buzzers hatching and some dry fly fishing, with quite a few out fishing over the weekend it was interesting to here the bag counts one lad catching 16 and several lads catching 4 ore more it good for us to get the boost that things are beginning to happen, although unfortunately there are still a few that either blank of just catch one or two, fishing from the bank is pretty good but doesn’t seem to be as consistent as it was a week ago, but it may just be that the past few days have seen the better anglers out in the boats, yet there have been a few good fun moments, Scotty from the KATS Whiskers club on the bank, caught two at once, this being the first time this had ever happened to him gave him something special to celebrate, not that he needed a reason, Paul Merrifield managed to convincingly blank whilst all his team mates caught fish, Paul really tried hard, fishing while everyone else rested at the Bar B Que, he was still trying, never mind theirs always a next time Paul.
