Goldenloch february 27 / 2012 week 9
What a difference a few days nice weather can make, suddenly everything just perks up, Tuesday morning was warm with zero wind and fish showing all over the loch A Drummond, Kettle Bridge, had 7 keeping 2 for 4lbs, after the new fish were put in the loch dynamics changed completely and by 4 in the afternoon fish were seen feeding quite close to the sides, Wednesday morning saw fish being caught right up the loch side and into the middle at the far end, interestingly most of the fish caught were around the 3lb mark with several of them covered in bloodworms and leeches, Mr H Wallace, Livingstone caught one of our tagged fish and is now sporting a summer season ticket, Friday saw a quiet day due to the breeze but as the Thursday had been really warm fish were pretty active arriving late afternoon for just a quick fish was D Pollock, Monifieth, who had 2 for 9lbs one at 6.75lbs caught on a silver diawl bach, this being the biggest fish he had ever caught he was just about to loose it as he had no net when luckily our nieghbour out walking his dog came to his help and got a net, Saturday and Sunday were very rewarding days for anglers with good returns Shaun Pairman, Freuchie, 2 returned, Steve McDonald, Newburgh, 5 returned, Don Stewart, Glasgow 2 for 6lbs, 9 returned, John Grey, Auchtermuchty, 8, 6 returned, A Burns Kirkcaldy 4, 2 returned. Cormorants were bad last week with 14 on Monday 11 on Tuesday, 15 Wednesday, etc this is now a major pest and threat to fisheries, the government is going to have to change the law about being able to shoot them.
