Frozen loch
Goldenloch
February 6 / 2012 Week 6
Loch is frozen all bar a bit the size of a football pitch at the far side Jimmy Armstrong, fished on Sunday putting 2 back but said that after an hour he could hardly feel his fingers, his other problem was that the eyes on his rod kept icing over but it was good to be out and even better to be on his own, Computers, you either love them and get really into it or like me you enjoy using them for work, last week our kept shutting down, and refusing to start sometimes and as its for business I have with PC world a business account and backup should something go wrong not cheap but useful to have and we’ve had it for years, so phoned them up, there answer was, bring it in and we will have a look, it sounds like the hard drive cooked or corrupted, it’ll take a couple of weeks to fix as we are really busy, went to shop with PC, and waited 20 mins to get served as the guy was on the phone but I could hear him talking about getting his kids picked up from school as he was going to a night class, anyway he asked what was wrong with it and I explained that I had a maintenance contract with them and his answer was that it didn’t cover this machine as they stopped selling them 3 years ago, but they would have a look and see if they could fix it but I would probably be better just buying a new one as the cost of fixing this one would be high, now at this point he hadn’t even tried mine far less opened it up, at that point the phone rang and he proceeded to talk to someone about installing a modem, you know what ive spent thousands in PC world over the last 15 or so years, these guys are just shit, so picked up tower and walked out shop, getting stopped at till and asked if I had still to pay for a repair, opposite the cinema in Perth is a computer repair shop, upstairs, ive noticed it before, the shop used to sell prams, anyway I took in the tower and explained all to the guy, who immediately said it’ll be the graphics’ card opened up machine and took the card out, he asked me if I played games, I said no, he then put the lid back on plugged it in and it worked, he then said its really a common problem after a few years these cards fail and if you don’t play games they aren’t needed, but he then told me that PC World would have installed a new one and the bill would be a few hundreds this guy charged me £20, how good is that.
