Goldenloch march -14-11
The past week at the Goldenloch has been a night mare, we had a few things organised and every single one had to be cancelled due to the weather, some lads however braved the elements and arrived to fish, some for a few hours and others managed to last the whole day, but they were cold, last week saw a lot of rain fall, as well as snow, plus we had some really frosty mornings and some really windy ones, so the water clarity in the loch got pretty mixed up and cloudy, the fish obviously were a bit confessed by all this and decided to drop down in the water to the bottom and just lie there, Saturday was a really wild day but Messrs Stewart, Garland and Barr from Dundee fished all day, and judging by the hoots of laughter, they enjoyed themselves immensely, Sunday saw a few more lads out and the odd fish caught but being honest after the really bad weather the fish are well and truly well down in the water, what is needed is some warm sunshine and some settled weather to get things started again, this year we are trying to maintain the same pricing levels as we have done for that past 3 years, in actual fact at the Goldenloch we have not put up our prices since 2005 but we did reduce the bag limit by one in 2007, so in us trying to maintain this price level we are relying on a steady season both in angler numbers as well as the suppliers not increasing their fish prices, it may also be that occasionally we will stock slightly smaller fish, approx 1.5 to 1.75 lbs instead of always stocking fish above 2lbs, but most importantly as long as you the angler feel that you are getting a good days sport then everybody is happy.
