Goldenloch march -07-11
Fly Fishing in early March is mostly about just getting out onto the water and trying out new techniques and new equipment, its not really about just relaxing and taking in the quiet still nature of being in the countryside or is it, I really don’t know anymore, this last week has been another of cold blustery winds although there was a couple of warmer days and the anglers have been catching fish, some doing very well easily getting catches of 8 or 9 fish and other lads not even getting a bite, not many but a few, is the bank better than the boat, again its hard to say, other than the lads on the bank tend to be the more inexperienced anglers, but they still manage to catch fish, C Murray, Auchtermuchty, who only really started fishing this year is now catching fish quite regularly, as well as B Travoski, St Andrews who fished for the first time ever in February both lads a persevering well and getting good results, M Nicol, Perth, had a brilliant day on Wednesday catching 10, Master Jack Drummond age 9 fishing with his dad and Granddad managed to catch 2 using a yellow dancer and a blood worm, Jim Cook had a really good day on Saturday as well as Jim Arnot, Glenrothes and Jim Young Glenrothes both lads getting a few and putting them back, its nice to see so many lads having a good time and getting good catches but it would be so much better if the weather would just warm up a little.
