Goldenloch november-08-10
A much better week at the Goldenloch, with the weather a little bit more normal these last few days the fishing had improved enormously, and the range of flies that the fish are now accepting has broadened, the bung and the dancer being pretty well put to the back of the box and the diawl bach and Montana’s being used to success also buzzers have been getting used in the afternoons as the water warms, the fish really do start to come to the surface, especially around the top bay beyond the other hut, John Kettles, Murthly, using a Damsel had 3, Sam Angus, Perth, had a really good day out fishing his uncle by 7 fish, Sam caught 8 using a Damsel and clearly was in the groove, other people doing well were, Jim Horsburgh, Kirkcaldy, M Baxter and A Fenton, Glenrothes, 3 each, and L Antomony and S Syme both Kelty, 3 each, all these lads were using Damsels or Montana’s, Russell Robertson, Glenfarg on a very cold day during last week had 2 or 3 using snatchers, as did Jimmy Brown, Stirling who just caught his best brown trout ever approx 6lbs and was in great condition as he released back to the water. This week sees a big load of winter stockies being put in and should bring the numbers of trout up, equalling last year, not bad considering we lost 2 months at the beginning and still have December to go.
