Goldenloch november-01-10
At the Goldenloch these past few days it’s been very cold in the morning’s, Friday and Saturday saw an east wind blowing and on some of the other days during the week we have had torrential rain, so all in all the conditions for fishing have been pretty poor, but fish are getting caught, its not easy by any means and sometimes the lads that I would expect to catch fish haven’t done as well as expected, and conversely some other lads have done very well, two weeks ago the fishing was relatively settled and fish were being caught using blobs and yellow dancers but this last week saw a complete change in the fly pattern and it was back to nymphs and buzzers, also red mini lures were very successful for some, Sunday saw a big turn out of anglers and it was a stunning day, bright from the early hours and relatively warm, it wasn’t going to be an easy day as the day before was a really cold east wind, it started slow but lads were catching the odd ones here and there, as the day progressed it got much better and by late afternoon the catches were really quite good, the boats looked like they were doing far better but by night all the lads on the bank were bagged up returning a few and a few nice big fish being caught as well John Cowie, Perth had a cracker of a rainbow, not mentioning any names but most of the lads from Bonnyrig had a pleasant day except for the short one who blanked and was quite good about it as it made his mates feel better, What we need is a spell of settled weather and for the fish to just start moving about again, this morning Monday is a lot warmer than its been for a while and on going down to the loch there are fish showing so perhaps its going to be a better week.
