Goldenloch september-13-10
Its been a really quiet week at the Goldenloch but for those who turned up its been reasonably productive, the algae has had a big shift, and is now only visible in the bottom bay where we keep the boats, and the water clarity on the rest of the loch is best described as reasonable, however as the wind has been stirring things up, not badly but a little, fish are moving in all areas and are feeding on a buffet of grub that seems to be on the bottom of the loch, on Friday two anglers gutted a couple of fish just to see what was in their bellies, and they were absolutely stuffed with fresh water shrimps to the point as the knife was inserted, they were spewing out, this before we even opened them up, the fishing is definitely much better in the morning, and the fish are more active on the surface then, it seems that they are taking these shrimp off the bottom during mid am till mid day which is when they, the shrimp are at their most active, the lads from Glenfarg Angling club who have had a disastrous seasons fishing with a few blanks out and about had a really good days sport on Sunday with Duncan Crabtree Edinburgh catching 4 and returning 2 using a yellow dancer, Jim Arnot Kirkcaldy, fishing with his son and grandson, had a really good morning on Sunday with 5 each all returned, Jim and Ian Burns, Glenrothes, fishing in really calm conditions on Saturday night, again using yellow dancers found it a bit hard but caught 3 each returning 1 or 2, during the past week its been the same story with the best catches either in the morning or late night, however at night its not till about 9.30 > 10.30pm that the fishing gets really good, and by that time all are in their beds except perhaps the hardy few like Trevor from Perth who caught a couple of really nice fish about 10pm and A Hyndman, Muirhead, who had 2 + 12 returned using a black green lure.
