Goldenloch august-30-10
Still no rain at the Goldenloch, we have had little showers and I mean little warm showers that hardly get your hair wet and with the water on Monday past sitting at 18 degrees it was just a tad warm, however we have had some cooler evenings which has had the effect of dropping the loch temperature by 2 degrees to 16, the fishing is still quite hard but fish are being caught by just going that little bit deeper, Saturday saw J Hennan and R Grierson, Methil having a great day with as they described many fish returned including a few brownies, the boys from Livingstone with their youngsters were hammered by the young lads C Stephen catching 6, including a few fish around the 4lb mark, Thursday and Friday were quite hard days mostly due we think to the slight presence of algae which now on Monday seems to have quietly disappeared, but fishing then were Russell Robertson Glenfarg who had 4 using a Damsel and Jim Gourlay with A Burke Coaltown of Balgonie getting 3 using hoppers, Sunday morning saw the boys from Bonnyrig arrive and unfortunately a stronggish North East wind which had a pretty devastating effect on the already pretty had fishing they did however manage a few and had a very enjoyable day, what is it about the wind when it does a complete turn around and the fish, where do the go, it never gave up and as the day progressed the fish showing just got less and less, however by evening the wind had abated and we had a good rise of fish around 8pm
