Goldenloch august-02-10
Goldenloch anglers have mostly all caught fish in the last week however it is definitely been so much easier in the mornings and very late at night, the really hard part is from about 3 or 4 pm till after 8 at night, why this is we are not sure but there are loads of fish moving in all parts of the loch all day, they seem to be feeding on green olive buzzers, the loch this morning Monday was completely flat calm, and the surface of the water covered in olive green empty buzzer shells so something was hatching big style during darkness or early morning, we also over the last 30 hours or so have seen the temperature drop by a few degrees and about an inch of rain fall which will be good for cooling the water, some really good catches have been had in the past few days Andrew Lee, Kirkcaldy fishing with his young nephew Sam Angus, Perth had great time on Friday catching a total of 12, 8 released and 4 for 8lbs all on dry flies, Friday evening saw J Leckie and D Sinclair Strathmiglo buck the evening bogie however and arriving at 4pm fished till 10, catching 5 each all released, Mr Meikle Pitlessie, had 3 using daddies as did Hamish Anderson, Edinburgh, fishing with his grandson Tommy age 8 who caught 2 but lost them both, Bill Smart, Denbeath, having his Sunday night session managed 5, 3 returned and a good soaking as well, Its good to have rain at this time of year as it really freshens up the water in the loch, however it does I have noticed in past few years slow down the evening rises which are not as good as they were in previous years but now we are into August perhaps we shall see some nice warm weather. This week sees the arrival of a large load of mature rainbows, and with the water a bit cooler some excellent fishing I hope.
