Goldenloch july-19-10
The past week at the Goldenloch has been very unusual weather wise as the wind was not nearly as strong as was forecast, apart from Friday, the forecasters had said that mid week the weather was to be really windy and yes each day we had a big wind but only for an hour or so, some days like Wednesday and Thursday were positively pleasant, and for those who turned up, they had a good days fishing, the weekend however has been pretty much back to normal with everyone putting back 5 or 6 fish, Mike and Chris McIntosh, Perth, retuned 17 in total, and were catching them using Damsels and olive crunchers, John Joiner, Errol, using a humungas, had 2 for 4lbs and Alan Burke and Jim Gourlay, Coaltown, returned 9, keeping 3 for 4lbs, Sunday was a really nice day which the forecasters had predicted as gusty, Jock Hennan and Rab Grierson, Methil, 4 for 8.5lbs with many returned, using very small buzzers and cormorants, John Leckie, Strathmiglo, kept 3 for 6lbs and returned 5 using a hares ear, with the water crystal clear and some good rises, the loch is fishing very well, the weed has all but disappeared now and is not giving a problem to the bank anglers at all, however there is a patch right in the middle of the loch that we have never tackled, needless to say this is now where most of the anglers seem to park their boats and fish two months ago they were screaming about it being a nuisance.
