Goldenloch july-12-10
Some seriously good fishing at the Goldenloch now that the rain has cooled the loch, anglers are really having great sport and the brownies that we were supposed to put in never arrived, their does seem to be a shortage of brown trout at the moment, however I am working on it and hope to get some soon, but not to so for some anglers for in the last few days we have seen some crackin brown trout get caught, Don Stewart from Glasgow had a beaut at 3.5lbs and returned another at 2lbs, Dave Wilson, Kingskettle had 3 for 10lbs also returning a load of fish many of which were brown trout, he also commented that he had dropped a load of fish and that he probably had his best days fishing for a long time, Tim Dover, Bridge of Earn brought along a friend that stays near them, and never having fished before so Tim gave a brief lesson and the gent went on to fish catching a 4.5lb and a 3.5lb rainbow absolutely chuffed was the comment as they left, Tim absolutely loves his fishing and uses his fish that he catches in their restaurant “The Roost” which is at the gates of the Kilgraston school in Bridge of Earn, Sandy Kapyto, Kirkcaldy, fishing with the Kaits Wiskers, who were having a camping weekend, BBQ type, sleepover, caught three really nice rainbows and then had to return some stunning brownies, the wind and rain kinda spoilt their stay but fun was had by all and some really nice fish were caught, all to the background music of the distant T in the Park, Best flies just now seem to be Dark Green Klinkhammers and Hares ear Diawl Bach Nymphs, with the usual assortment of black and red buzzers, the weed problem has all but gone in fact the weeds that are left are attracting not only the fish but the fishermen that were complaining about them only a couple of weeks ago, the comments now are that the weed is great and giving superb cover to the fish??? It’s impossible to get it right when your running a fishing loch and it doesn’t matter what or how you do things its always going to upset someone.
