Goldenloch june-07-10
This last week at the Goldenloch has seen some pretty good catches and some reasonable sized fish coming out of the water even although the weather has been a bit strange, Saturday was a very warm mucky day and the air pressure was very high but anglers still managed to catch fish just by going a little deeper, in the areas of the loch where the weeds were not so high in the water, last year we couldn’t pull out the weeds in our usual manner, using wire ropes as the ropes just slide over the top of the weeds and so we bought a cutter which worked really well, this year the cutter just clods up and we have reverted back to pulling out the weeds and this year that’s working really well, yesterday we pulled out the area in front of the boat jetty and the fish just went mad obviously feeding on what we disturbed, on investigation of the massive piles of weeds that we have pulled out the small insects and shrimp etc that are living in it is just amazing, this week it is an ongoing project to work our way round the loch pulling out the weeds, J Blake, Freuchie, did well on Sunday (11)as did, A Burns, Kirkcaldy (11), B Smith, Gateside, had 2 for 4lbs using buzzers, one lad that had a particularly good time on Saturday evening was Colin Jeffrey, Auchtermuchty who using dry flies had 9 all released and he reckoned all over 3lbs with some around the 5lb mark, having his first outing of the year was D Wilson Kingskettle bringing his pal M Bakharia both using buzzer caught 2 each for 5lbs another local M Dickie, Ladybank, using dry flies only and having a ball catching 8 keeping 2 for 8.5lbs.
