Goldenloch may-17-10
At last a pretty normal week at the Goldenloch, this year so far has got to have been one of the coldest and windiest springs for a long time, however this week has seen some really good warm mornings and evenings and flat calm conditions, the fishing has responded by fish moving in all areas of the loch and are rising to a small green buzzer that hatches into a reasonable sized green winged insect, the weed which hasn’t really got any larger is still in patches but is about to get cut and will allow anglers to fish a bit deeper nearer the boat jetty, Colin Laird, Markinch 3 for 8.5lbs using a Damsell, Tim Dover, Bridge of Earn, 3 for 7lbs on Diawl Bachs, Master Ewan Angus, Glenfarg, 3 keeping 2 for 7.5lbs using bloodworm, A Borthwick and his pals from Livingston had a really good day on Tuesday even although it was a tad cold with most of them getting full bags and returning at least 6 fish each, however its not all easy fishing and for some lads it can be very frustrating Friday night saw two lads blank who told me that normally they would catch at their local water, with loads of fish being caught round about them on Friday they just didn’t have the right size or type of flies, its important when going to a new fishery to look at the catches book and see just exactly the pattern that’s been doing the best, what was amusing for these lads was the fact that Friday night saw a real rise and the fish were bubbling and jumping everywhere and nothing they did worked.
