Goldenloch may-03-10
This last week at the Goldenloch has been really good the water temperature has now started to rise, up to 9 degrees, the clarity is getting better, about 2 metres, and the fish are now feeding on the surface, but with all the feeding that is still currently on the bottom and in the water there is plenty going on, everyone is having a really good time, some a lot better than others but that’s always been the case, the fish quality is outstanding and the condition of the fish with the feeding that is available for them is producing some of the best fighting fish one could possible hope to catch, what is very noticeable is that the fish are responding well to bloodworms and buzzers with small wet flies also being very popular, youngster Ewan Angus fishing with his dad Deryk caught and landed on his own a nice 2.5lb rainbow while dad had 6, also catching singlehandedly his first ever fish was C Proudfoot, Strathmiglo, while his dad and friend caught quite a few from the boat jetty, the boys from Bonnyrig had a good time with several fish being caught all over the loch, its nice to see when people catch a few in one spot they then move to let someone else get a chance these lads are the real deal, D & J Dick, Markinch, had a brilliant day almost as good as Alan Burke and Jimmy Gourlay from Coaltown, who where using Buzzers and Montana’s and were catching fish at nearly every cast, Brother and sister K and W Westland using red buzzers had a good day on what turned out to be quite a cold day last Monday they were getting the fish at the middle to far end of the loch at about half a metre deep, on the same day, Tim Dover, Bridge of Earn, had a few but he also had a day of getting many nocks and lost fish, very frustrating, For the techno guys amongst the readers of my weekly blog, Google has put the Goldenloch on their streetview roads, about a year ago the Google car drove past and its taken till now for it to be uploaded, all you have to do is type Goldenloch into Google maps and then after you get the map, drag the little yellow man onto the road next to the Goldenloch, it absolutely amazing.
