Goldenloch feb-08-10
At last, after weeks of snow and ice, the fishermen are back at the Goldenloch and its good to see them, but most importantly they are catching fish, you would think with the water still so cold and the days pretty driech that there would not be much happening but it is, Saturday was a bit slow, however Sunday was good and the last three days of last week were good, what’s working is diawl bachs and black tadpoles and green dancers, Don Stewart had 4 , 2 for 8lbs returning 2 and John Gray 5,3 for 8lbs returning 3, A Burns Kirkcaldy 5,3 for 7.5lbds returning 2, but the two lads who enjoyed themselves the most had to be W Pryde and his pal Ron who arrived last Thursday after a hard nights frost and then spend the whole day bombing round the loch breaking the ice using the boat occasionally stopping to fish in between the ice flows and yes they did catch fish however it was a particularly nice sunny day and other anglers had noticed that the fish seemed to be rising to something on the water Allan Gibson had a couple but had to give up due to the many bits of ice that had been cut by the boat but he didn’t mind as it was just good to be back out on the loch, It been a long winter and I think perhaps more to come, thanks for your emails I think what we are going to try and devise is a sort of monthly competition with everyone eligble and their will be a main prise each month details yet to be ironed out.
