This past week at the Goldenloch has been quite quiet, but the fishing has been superb, some anglers have been catching too many fish, can you be leave that, from what it was like two weeks ago, what has changed is that the fish are moving about in the top foot of water, they are not taking anything of the surface but are very active just under it, also last week saw the introduction of a large load of winter trout the difference between them and what we normally stock is that they are not nearly as fat but are a bit leaner and a bit more hungry, the theory is that because the fish that are in the loch are extremely fat due to the huge amount of feeding that is available to them in the loch they are just lying on the bottom doing nothing, it is a known fact that a fish can lie sometimes for weeks just in a state of hibernation because of a change in temperature or dirty water or something atmospheric has happened, this we are hopping to overcome by introducing a slightly thinner trout which will be more active and a lot more fun to catch.
