Goldenloch sept 21-09-09
Last Monday at the Goldenloch saw a dramatic change in the fish’s behaviour after weeks of relatively easy fishing and big catches the weather turned cold at nights and in the early mornings, having the effect of putting the fish down into the deeper waters, what’s happening now is that the fish are rising for very specific feeding and if you’ve not got what they want, you are going to find it hard to catch something, its been so obvious this week that the lads with the knowledge have done very well and the lads that just come hoping to catch haven’t done so well, however there are plenty of fish still being caught, just not bucket loads, nymphs have been good as have certain dry flies but only if its cloudy above with a breeze, most people are leaving with one or two fish as the population of fish in the loch remains high and the fish are showing every half hour or so, with a load due this week since our supplier has been on holiday it should help make the fishing just a tad easier, I have just been speaking with a couple of lads who tell me that the fishing everywhere in the last few days has become really hard so we are not alone.
