It’s been another really good week at the Goldenloch, Fly Fishing using dry flies has really started early this year and the evening hatches are excellent, the few bright days that happened last week seemed to have triggered the water into hatching some really nice flies and buzzers, however the bulk of the fishing is still done during the day and although there aren’t any defined rises during the day the fish are however coming to the surface and feeding, I am sure that what I have written makes sense to those who know what I am trying to say, best catches have been had in the furthest middle section of the loch and up at the old lodge, Every night this last week has seen the loch absolutely boiling with fish and it seems that they are eating the buzzer scuchs or so it has been said, getting his first ever fish on a dry fly was 12 year old Andrew Baxter Glenrothes a nice 2 lb rainbow, as did Gilly Haynes, Perth she had fished before with her dad but never caught anything and on her first visit here had 2 for 5lbs using a PTN, another youngster was William Croal. Kirkcaldy using a dry Klinkhammer he had 2 for 4 lbs and went home a very happy angler. The weeds that have been growing very vigorously in the past few weeks seem to have reached that stage where they are to big to support themselves and have or are crashing back down to the bottom so soon we will have much larger areas clear for fishing.
