Goldenloch 27/04/2009
Anglers at Goldenloch have had a very good week, there still isn’t however any real fly hatches to speak of because we still keep getting days when it can be really cold like yesterday, Sunday, Saturday was great and nice and warm, but annoyingly the wind kept changing direction and it made fishing, especially from the bank difficult, fish were showing in all places and the anglers were catching them in one and twos occasionally when they decided to take something, however yesterday it was totally different with fish aggressively going for flies and anglers catching much higher numbers, strange when you realise that it was so much colder G McArthur and S Anderson both from Glenrothes and both fishing from the bank had a great days sport catching fish regularly in all areas of the banking they put back everything and both said that they had fish up to 4lb +, F Allan, A Ker, K Patterson all from Edinburgh had a really good day although a bit cold they had planned to be hear longer but were all fished out by late afternoon having caught quite a few, Its been a really good week for the ladies this past week with June Ferns Newton catching a 5 lb rainbow on a black Penal, Audrey Brown, Cupar beating her man by catching 2 for 5lbs to his 1 for 2lbs, and Kristy, Kirkcaldy getting 3 for 6.5 lbs, This week should see the arrival of a large load of 2+ lb brown trout these are for pleasure fishing and although we don’t mind anglers taking them we would rather you only took 1 at a time and not just them if you see what I mean
