Goldenloch 16/03/2009
It’s been another strange week at the Goldenloch with high changing winds, very cold mornings, days with flat calm and sunshine, sleet and snow, so what’s the fishin been like then, well its not been so good its been a bit variable, its actually been a lot better in the late afternoon than it is in the mornings, fish do not like changing conditions at the best of times and certainly at this time of year we can get changing conditions, anglers are still catching and its been on very small flies and things like brown buzzers, PTN, Red Diawl Bachs, and of course at this time of year there are quite a few lads using the usual Cats Whiskers and Consett Budgies, everyone visiting is having an enjoyable day but it would be nice if the fish were a bit more co-operative, the cormorants’ are still coming relentless every morning and terrorising the fish, and I am convinced that this is why the fishing is not good till later in the day as it takes till then for the fish to slowly come up from the depths as that is where they hide, Jim Wilson, Dalgety Bay arrived at 3pm on Sunday, and had 4 which were all realised using a G H Consett Budgie, Jims comments were that he had lots of offers as well and that he thought that the fish were in very fit condition.
