Goldenloch 02/02/2009
Its been a reasonably quiet week at the Goldenloch, the weather has not been very pleasant, with wind and cold being the problem, although both Saturday and Sunday were quite mild, catches are picking up nicely Ray Eastwood, Bankfoot had 5 all returned and M Cuthil, Falkland using a yellow dancer had 3 for 9.5lbs returning 1, Trevor Patterson, Lochore had 5 keeping 2 and big John McLelland, had 2 for 6lbs, using a cats whisker, most if not nearly all of the fish caught in the last week have been from the bank and surprisingly the best spot has been the point nearest the hill although the ground here is very muddy and soft due to all the rainwater coming from the steep hill, for anglers that have persevered its been well worth their time, Martin Nicol, Perth, on a very wet and blustery day, had 5, using one of Allan Gibson’s special flies, and that was followed by James Hain, Glenrothes who replaced Martin, and was using a Diawl Bach, buzzer combination and caught 6 returning all, Tuesday saw G McClusky, and J Nesmith, Spittalfield, take a boat out and spend all day for 1 fish each, both lads admitting to having lost a few, but spent a lot of time being blown about, whilst on the bank anglers were catching fish steadily Mr J Adams Kirckcaldy had 7 all returned and Martin Nicol Perth 4 returned again using a tadpole buzzer combination.
