At last a complete week of fishing, the first since November and its been reasonably good weather, albeit a tad cold, one thing about fishing at this time of year is that everyone who come, are coming to enjoy themselves and that’s before they even arrive, just being outdoors in the fresh air without any regulations or stipulations for some is very exhilarating and enjoyable, on Thursday one angler arrived with fishing withdrawal symptoms stating that for the past few months, every time he had free time, we were frozen, anyway he caught 2 and released 2, so he was back on the road to recovery, Mr Dalrymple, Glenfarg visiting for the first time kept 1 at 2.5lbs and released 1, as did Martin Nicol, Perth, who was using buzzers, another lad on buzzers was Ray Eastwood, Bankfoot, who released 5, The Burns Boys between them caught 10 keeping 6 for 16lbs using an assortment of flies and their fishing buddy Leslie Wilson, Glenrothes, managed 1 at 3.5lbs catching it using a flexi Cat, Sunday was a much better day than the rest of the week as the temperature was a full 5 to 6 degrees warmer, catches were good and the fish were active for most of the day, however it was noted that there seemed to be more in the bottom corner nearer the road than anywhere else, the wind was constant but not fierce, J Hunter, Dunfermline, had 4 for 8.5lbs as did, W Scott, Kelty, Gary Haggart, Glenrothes released 2, It felt like an early spring day but it really cant be, cause we have still got winter to come yet, I mean we haven’t even got into February, and that’s when it gets really cold, so lads you’ve just got to enjoy every day as it comes just now, cause we’ve got no control over the weather, and as my father used to say, March will arrive long before you are ready for it, so think ahead. ( must order some more Brownies)
