Goldenloch 10/11/2008
Anglers at the Goldenloch this last week have battled with some pretty atrocious conditions, it started last Monday and Tuesday with flat calms and thin ice over half the loch, but they were still catching plenty of fish, Bob Beveridge and S Ferguson, Cowdenbeath both had 3 each using lures and Betty Henderson had 1 for 3lbs using her own home tied turquoise temptress, Wednesday saw much milder weather but a wind picked up, making it harder for the boats, David Heuchan, fishing from the bank had 2 for 6lbs as did W Anderson from Kirkcaldy, the rest of the week saw this wind just get stronger and Saturday turned out to be a pretty miserable day, but true to form the hardy lads were out fishing, Alan Gibson, BOE, had 6 which were all returned and Tommy Hardy, returned 7, Sunday saw what looked like a really nice start to the day and some great fishing first thing, Ray Eastwood and B Mitlhall, Bankfoot both returning 6 each, the Burns Brothers Glenrothes had 2 each and returned 3 or 4 as did Harry Evans, Arbroath who had a great time using dry flies on a floating line, with 4 fish caught and returned, every fish was full finned and about 3 or 4 lbs, he couldn’t believe that by using hoppers or spiders he could catch anything at this time of year and had only put them on as he had seen fish taking sedges.
