Goldenloch 06/10/2008
With the colder weather the fishing at the Goldenloch has become much easier and anglers are catching fish using a varying selection of small lures, however for those wishing to persevere with dry flies and small wet flies the fishing is still very good, the weed that was becoming a massive nuisance is now dying back and areas that were causing problems are now clear, however comments from some anglers are that where there was these big weedy areas there was also, big fat fish, now that the weed is collapsing and being blown to the bottom of the loch the fish have moved on and anglers cant find where they have gone to, Father and Son Allan and Euan Hyndman, Muirhead caught 4 using buzzers and returned 6 which were of a reasonable size, E Sandilands, Cliesh using dry flies had 2 for 8.5 lbs Ryan Bunyan, Dumfermilne caught 3 keeping 1 for 3lbs using nymphs, with winter fish now being stocked the fishing for October onwards should be a lot easier as these fish are slightly smaller or rather leaner which will make them a bit hungrier as the food reserves in the loch are still very high we are hoping for some excellent sport in the next few months.
