Goldenloch 09/06/2008
Fishing at the Goldenloch this past weekend was made difficult because of the really bright sunshine however some lads did really well when others found the going hard John Leckie Strathmiglo caught 5 returning 2 using buzzers Graham Connelly arriving with Jim Young Glenrothes had 5 each all returned, the early morning anglers however were caught out by the bright sun which shone from 6am and put the fish down, but the most important element of fishing at the Goldenloch is that everyone who was here had a really good time few left with nothing as most had caught at least one or two fish, Fish are showing in all areas of the loch and seem to be taking buzzers just under the surface the biggest rise in a day however comes around at about 10.30pm and lasts for three or four hours, when the fish are feeding like mad it is a largish dark green buzzer that is causing this frenzy and it seems that the fish are gorging themselves on it, in the mornings when the water is calm the surface is just covered in buzzer shucs, with the days being so hot the anglers are having to fish much deeper and getting the right fly is difficult. Alan Gibson Bridge of Earn has tied his own fly creation which he has been giving to other anglers who are reporting good results, Martin Nicol, Perth was given 3 flies and went on to catch a few fish but lost them all Allan then admitted to him that he had given him the barbless version by mistake and replaced them bringing a smile back to Martins face as he then started to catch again.
