Goldenloch 02/06/2008
Fishing at the Goldenloch is now in summer mode; last week saw good rises in the morning and evening with anglers surrounded by hundreds of feeding fish, some anglers were using dry flies with good results, Monday saw D H Evans, East Kilbride fishing from the pier at the boats, using a small dry midge he caught 9 all returned, never having caught so many before he was in his element as anglers were passing him all day as they went onto the loch, Tuesday and Wednesday saw very wet and windy conditions and a return of the east wind but it didn’t affect the fishing and anglers were still getting good catches Ian Burns Glenrothes had 8 returned and C Coutts Dundee had 3 for 9lbs returning 2, Thursday saw C Jeffrey and L Dick from Auchtermuchty having a great time Colin returning 9 and Lyle 4 both lads couldn’t believe the amount of fish that were rising and the seagulls that were in a feeding frenzy on big green buzzers all competing for the same food, this happening after 9pm. Konrad Kapuscinski 10 years old, Cupar arriving with his family on Sunday for a family days outing was keen to start fishing and after his uncle set up a rod for him he wandered down to the loch and cast into the water catching a 3lb rainbow which shocked him, luckily a regular angler was on hand to help with the retrieval and netting, for his first time fishing trip he is now well and truly hooked, they all had a great day with a bar-bee and some good fishing.
