Goldenloch 12/05/2008
Really good fishing this past week at the Goldenloch with everyone coming of the water with a full bag of fish, or even better the lads that don’t need fish coming off having had a superb day catching good hard fighting fish happy with no fish taken, its still sad to see or hear anglers say that they don’t really need fish yet they kill them as they need to weigh them in, with a load of bigger fish due this week I am seriously thinking of putting in each boat a set of spring scales so as those guys not needing fish can weigh fish them in the net then return them to fight another time, its not us trying to be mean its just that it’s a real pity to see cracking fish killed and wasted, with the weather a lot warmer and the fish up in the top foot of water anglers have had some real time fishing with buzzers being the main attraction however a lot has been caught using Diawl Bachs and Hares Ears, the feeding in the loch has just multiplied into huge amounts with buzzers hatching most of the day however it must be said that the fishing is definitely best in the early morning or at 7 > 8 in the evening last night saw a huge rise at about 7 but it only lasted for about an hour as there was a sudden cold breeze from the east which put the fish down, this morning we could see fish moving in all areas and as we watched a lone angler early start he caught with his first cast, with 3 bright days just past we have noticed a small touch of algae in the water but with both aerators back in the water I am hoping to be able this year to have some control over it, But the best comment this week is that several anglers have had their best days fishing for years and our congratulations to Shannon Hickman age 12 from Kirkcaldy using a damsel caught on her own a 2.5 lb rainbow.
