Goldenloch 07/01/2008
Fishing at the Goldenloch this past week has been for the real dedicated anglers as the weather has been pretty varied verging on the wild at times however anglers have not been put of with the adverse conditions Saturday saw 6 hardy lads out on the loch, A Morrison had 2 and S McBride 1 at 3lbs while Steve McCarthy had 3 all returned, the wind never stopped all day and just came from every direction however Sunday saw a much calmer day but less anglers Ray Easton first here had a rainbow and a Brownie and Dave Gonsales Auchtermuchty 3 rainbows as did J Selfridge and Jim Wilson, there seems to be more activity of fish now in the afternoon as anglers late on Sunday reported quite a few fish moving around the margins and at the top end of the loch, during the week last week there was not a huge amount of fish caught but rather a steady quantity Brian Stewart Dundee had 6 all returned and Mark Hill and A Gray between them had 11, at the Goldenloch our stocking policy is that we reset the counter on the 1st of January and assume that there is no fish in the loch , so in the next few weeks weather permitting our new fish of the season will be arriving we have on order at the moment 1 load of Artic Char and 2 loads of Rainbows so depending on conditions for delivery we should see a pretty good start to the season, however it must be noted that the fish count on December 31st stood at 1250 so there must still be quite a few in the water its just that they have become a bit to smart we think. Hoping to see ya all soon and wishing all a good season for 2008 John
