Week ending 26/nov/07 goldenloch
The past week at the Goldenloch has seen again a very varied weather pattern with cold winds being the biggest threat to the anglers Tuesday and Wednesday saw a huge amount of rain fall and that combination saw the fish become very hard to catch, as they probably went very deep due to the fact that they do not like changing situations by the weekend however things became more settled and anglers were enjoying catching fish, Tuesday saw the Spittalfield pensioners on the water who even on a good summers day find it hard to catch fish but in the adverse weather while they were fishing managed 2 each, alongside Allan Gibson, Bridge of Earn who was fishing from the bank managed to catch 3 for 6lbs, the next day saw the lads and lassie from Cowdenbeath arrive, B Beveridge, S Ferguson, B Henderson and with the water well stirred up they managed again to catch a few fish but it was a really cold day and the fishing wasn’t really at its best, it took till Friday to see things improve, with Martin Nicol Perth getting 3 from the bank using a tadpole and Jim Weir, Dumfermilne, who arrived late having a tremendous day using small buzzers and Scottish wets, catching 9 fish in the few hours that he was here, Jim put all back and commented that at about 4 pm there seemed to be a hatch in one particular area of the loch at the bottom corner next to the willow trees and the fish just went frantic trying to feed it was hard to cast over them due to the way the wind was blowing but with a short line and roll casting he had a great day, Saturday was quiet but Allan Gibson was on the bank and caught 2 using buzzers and David Flavell had 1 for 2lbs using a cats whisker.
