Week ending 22/july/07 goldenloch
How long will this continue, the fishing this past week has been fantastic with 100% satisfaction from the anglers who have visited, catches have been on every type of fly but mostly dries, two areas in the loch seem to be the hotspots for this, up at where we have put the old lodge on either side of the bank and down at the bottom bank corner where their seems to be a massive amount of buzzers hatching which are turning into very small black flies just before they emerge, it doesn’t seem to matter however where you fish you will find that because the water is crystal clear and the fish will find you that’s what is so different about the fishing this year its back to how it was 3 or 4 years ago, for me its seems strange not having to write about any physical problems with the loch however there is something that has really been annoying me this year and that is the amount of crap being left behind, if you have the time and energy to buy it, please remove it and don’t leave it in the boats or worse throw it into the water someone has to pick it up, its not a nice job and it takes time, bottles are the worst at least paper and cans wash up on the shore, this year we will be allowing night fishing again as we have noticed that when the evening rise starts about 8>8.30 it is continuing well past 12, for those that are interested please inform and we will arrange with you, this type of fishing is only by our prior knowledge as there is an element of risk attached and you have to sign a disclaimer (not our fault), Having a really good time this past week were Jim McPhee, Greig Urqhart who beat his dad again, Mr Hyndman using hoppers CDC and Shipmans had a great evening, Graham Connely using Klinkhammer dries had his usual great few hours and Alan and Davivid Torrance using suspender buzzers and sedges had a great days sport.
This week should see a very interesting load of fish arrive with some larger browns blues and rainbows for the lads that like a challenge not over big but fit was my request to the supplier.
