Week ending 25/june/07 goldenloch
Its great to be able to say that the water is crystal clear I am not so sure for how long as the warmer weather must just be around the corner and green algae will be back there is nothing surer, what little we had last week seems to have washed up on the shore lines and disappeared, but at the moment with the cooler winds and heavy rain the water is perfect, the fish are now taking flies as normal and anglers are all very happy, catches have been really good with everyone getting fish some a lot more than others it just depends on the way or techniques being used, Ian Ramage from Cupar took 2 for 7lbs and returned a few using mini cats on a very wet and windy day and Jake Drummond Coaltown of Wemyss had 4 for 9lbs using a black hopper, hoppers have been working really well in the last week especially at the far end of the loch up next to the rushes, Steve Smart Strathmiglo really enjoyed himself on Saturday with 6 returned and lots of offers he was using very small flies and on the loch at the same time was Dave Wilson, Kettle using barbless Greenwell’s managed to eventually get 3 in the boat after losing loads for 7lbs, its nice to see the water back to normal after such a crazy few months and for us to see happy faces coming of even last night with a really cold wind coming out of the north and torrential rain every body was pleased with their nights fishing and talking about how many they should have caught instead of how many they actually caught.
