Week ending 27/nov/06 goldenloch
The weather plays a very important part in catching fish and with two really nice days at the weekend and plenty fish showing, anglers had a great time, S Milne, Glenrothes, 3 for 6lbs and his buddy, D Hardlane, Glenrothes 3 for 6.5lbs, both lads using yellow flies, G Connel, from Dollar, fishing from the bank on a day ticket had 4 for 7lbs and returned 6 using yellow flies and his two friends on the next two jetties, F and S Paddon from Falkirk had an equally as good a day with 3 each and numerous returned, using allsorts of flies, all three lads had a great days sport, however, during the week the wind made conditions almost unbearable, but the hardy lads were out fishing, Mr Mann, Bankfoot caught 4 using a buzzer and four lads fishing from the bank on Wednesday, had a great day catching 3 each, using yellow dancers and Yellow cats, The boys from the Spittalfield youth club had a reasonable day with 11 caught between the 3 of them, however one lad was not trying as hard as he could have been, but we won’t mention any names. Sadly we heard this week about the death of one of our favourite characters; Donald McGilchrist from St Andrews, Don was a gentleman angler who really enjoyed his sport, never one to complain and he always had a smile to cheer you up, our thoughts are with Sally.
