Week ending 20/nov/06 goldenloch
With the winter fishing at the Goldenloch well and truly under way, anglers this past weekend had what was possibly their best days fishing for a long time, as the fish which have been searching for food for the past few weeks responded to the slightly warmer weather and came up to feed, Saturday saw Pete Fleming Methil on the water early alongside Colin Neville Springfield, who had 3 for 5.75 lbs and returned 3 using an orange Fritz, while Pete had 3 for 5lbs and returned a few. the Bankfoot boys, A Montgomery, S Mitchell and M Kinnon had a great time with 25 fish caught, keeping 7 for 18lbs and retuning everything else the boys were using Damsels and black and gold wet flies, at the other end of the loch, D Stewart, Glasgow and I Gray, Auchtermuchty were using Yellow and White dry flies and caught 5 in the few hours that they fished, Sunday morning saw the first morning frost which melted quickly and turned into a nice warm day the 6 lads from Strathmiglo angling club took to the water for their last outing of the season and had what was commented by some as their best days fishing, returning 21 fish for 40lbs, also fishing was B Hughes St Monnans who had 3 for 16lbs and returned 6 using buzzers.
