Week ending 16/oct/06 goldenloch
Anglers at the Goldenloch and elsewhere are well aware that in the past few years the weather has changed dramatically, from what we used to consider being the normal. And the fishes feeding habits seem to have altered to suit this new weather pattern, gone are the early morning rises that you just about set your watch by and gone are the two evening rises, instead we have fish rising during a cloud cover on a sunny day or when something happens to trigger a hatch, this past weekend saw heavy cold thick mist both days and fish moving and getting caught however on its clearance at approx 10am the fishing became very sporadic and the only fish being caught were of the bottom or from the boat jetty, this would last all day until about 5pm when everything would then change and the fish would start rising to feed, sticking it out until then was G Mackie, Lochore having a great day getting his limit and returning 6 and friend R Paterson, Glenrothes a beginner catching 3, both lads having a ball with the water flat calm and fish rising to the fly, Other catches this past week were Mr Callison Glenrothes 2 and 4 returned using hares ear and Messrs John Leckie and D Sinclair Starthmiglo both getting 3 each and returning 6 each using damsels, Mr Mann Oakley on a day ticket had 4 returning 3 however his partner for the day Mr Mitchell, Scone, left with only 1 but had a fabulous days fishing as he had loads of offers and lost fish, its not landing the fish that’s important was his comment but the skill in attracting them.
