Week ending 07/aug/06 goldenloch
Anglers at the Goldenloch have seen a huge improvement in the fishing, the blistering hot conditions during the last few weeks of July has changed and we now have much cooler mornings and evenings, the fish seem to have moved from being quite close in to the shoreline to the centre and top of the loch with much bigger fish are now being seen near the weed beds and one angler commented that he was sure that the fish were knocking the tall reeds at the far end in order to shake of insects. Carol Pebbles Kilmany fishing on what had to be one of the hottest days showed the boys how to catch fish using a parachute buzzer and Grey buzzer with white wings she had 3 for 6lbs with 2 being brownies, her partner Eric however only managing to get 2 for 5lbs Sunday morning saw the two Fenton boys being dropped off by their mum and then going on to catch fish, one of which was 3 lbs pretty good for 10 and 11 yr old, The water level is still low however the clarity is excellent and the temperature has dropped to 18 degrees this is all good news but heavy rain would still be very welcome.
