Week ending 19/06/06 goldenloch
With the water temperature rising every day at the Goldenloch due to the bright sunshine, anglers are finding it slightly harder to catch fish, however if the right fly can be found for that particular day then the rewards can be bountiful, Mr A Scobie, Glenrothes caught 3 for 6lbs and returned 3 using Hoppers as did Mr B Brogan, Meikleour with his weighing in at 10lbs. Jim Paton, Auchtermuchty was one of the lads finding the right combination on a really scorching hot day, using a diawl Bach damsel combination he caught 3 for 8.5lbs, Bill Mclaughlan, Glenrothes was another with 3 in the bag and 3 returned, Sandy Kopyto, Kirkcaldy and colleagues had a relaxing evening using buzzers with all catching fish however one lost a particularly big fish that took his line right out to the backing and then did a run past the boat breaking the cast, the blue trout and brownies are again making themselves known as several anglers have had some really nice fish in their bags, this year we have no weed problems and the water clarity (6ft) is reasonable considering the really hot weather that we have experienced, now that the weather is breaking we expect the clarity to improve.
Any anglers wishing to fish during the night from 11pm till early morning are asked that they please phone to arrange and so long as they wear a lifejacket we are happy to oblige, the loch is equipped with floodlights at the boat end which is a great benefit for retying casts.
