Week ending 15/05/06 goldenloch
Fly fishing at the Goldenloch has never been better than it was this past week with every angler well pleased with their catch; the most pleasure however has been the changing situations that have presented themselves to the anglers, fish have been showing themselves in all areas and are actively feeding on the surface a small grey larvae seems to be the most notable source of the feeding, which has been producing a very small white fly whatever it is, it must taste special to the fish as they can be seen feeding hard whenever it hatches, most spectacular is at about 8.30 pm when anglers just don’t know where to cast because there are so many rising fish, bigger fish have been getting caught as they seem to make their way to the loch from their winter hiding places, Mr John Leckie, Strathmiglo had an absolute beauty for 8 lbs and was very well formed giving John excellent sport Mr A Boyer, Crook of Devon had 2 one at 5lbs and one at 7lbs both caught using a PTN, Several other larger fish are eluding the anglers by breaking lines and just breaking free if the anglers just slackens his line slightly whilst playing these fish, other catches this week include Mr D Pozzi, Glenrothes 3 for 6lbs and Mr Burns, Glenrothes 3 for 6lbs using Diawl bachs.
