Week ending 08/05/06 goldenloch
Anglers at the Goldenloch have seen a dramatic change in the fish behaviour during the last few days, mostly due to the sudden warming of the conditions, with flies coming of the water all day the fish are now feeding from the surface and taking more traditional patterns, lures are not working nearly as well, buzzers and nymphs being the preferred flies, much bigger fish which have not been seen for a while are up and are now taking flies around the weed beds which are also showing through the water for the first time this year, Mr Ian Ramage, Cupar, on his usual quick flying visit caught one at 5.5lbs as did beginner David Kyle, Auchtermuchty, David fishing with his brother Darren who had 3 was delighted with his fish that weight in at just under 6lbs, David catching his on a black buzzer was well pleased as the fish gave a really strong fight, and until he got it in the boat he was not going to smile to much as it was his brother that was on the landing net, other good catches this past week were Jim Horsburgh, Kirkcaldy using a hares ear had 3 for 6lbs and 3 returned, Kevin McArthur Kirkcaldy using a Diawl bach, buzzer combination had 3 for 6lbs Kevin fishing well into the dark commented that he had never seen so many rising fish and just didn’t know where to cast his flies Mr G Bryan, Leven using buzzers had 3 for 6lbs as did Mr A Scobie also Glenrothes who returned quite a few as well.
