Week ending 17/04/06 goldenloch
Great sport fishing at the Goldenloch, with flies hatching in all areas anglers have had probably the best fishing of the year so far, feeding fish were in all parts, in the early morning Mr J Horsburgh, Kirkcaldy in flat calm had 3 for 7lbs and returned 3 using debarbed hooks, Ray Eastwood, Bankfoot, using barbless buzzers had 6 all returned, Master Jack Drummond aged 4 caught his first ever fish, a 2 lb rainbow using a black spider and another lad fishing for his first time was Mr Samson, Kirkcaldy who went home with 4, just couldn’t stop catching them was the comment, Miss Billy Evans fishing with her brother Stuart from Alaska were surprised at the fight put up by the brown trout, being used to fishing for much larger fish in their home lakes 6 to 8 lbs they commented that a 1.5 lb brown trout gave them a bigger thrill as they were giving a very strong bite and then diving down to the bottom pulling hard all the time, both are in Scotland this week to study Scottish tourism, P Newland, Southampton returning to fish with us from last year, fished every day for a week using nearly every fly that he had, each day was a success and he really enjoyed himself, with evening fishing now getting underway Messer’s Fulton, Wight and Spence had a superb nights fishing using Montana’s and Diawl Bachs they all had maximum catches best time ever was the comments.
