Week ending 12/02/06 goldenloch
This week at the Goldenloch saw most of the fish go really deep, due to the very cold winds that were constantly blowing over the water, however anglers are still getting catches Brian Stewart Dundee had 7 all returned using a small black nymph and Mr D Dewar, Dundee had 3 returned, Jim Paton, Auchtermucty and colloquies had a great time as usual, despite the water freezing in front of their eyes, when they started the very thin ice was melting and receding so the lads thought they were in for a nice warm day, however after an hour the frost came down fast and the ice just developed, not to be deterred the lads still caught 13 fish returning 9, Mr A Montgomery, Bankfoot using a Dawson’s olive had 4 all returned, Allan moved all round the loch and was surprised at just how active the fish were despite the cold getting loads of pulls wherever he fished, Colin laird, Markinch, using an olive damsel, caught 6, 3 for 7lbs, Colin was fishing from the bank and his comments were that the fish seemed to be most active about a foot below the surface again he had been getting loads of tugs. Mr Miekle, Pitlessie using green black nymphs fishing from the bank had 3 all returned, just a great days fishing despite the cold was his comment.
