Week ending 30/01/06 goldenloch
With a cold front arriving at the Goldenloch on Thursday morning the loch was completely frozen over, but this ice very quickly disappeared as the wind started about 9am, just as Jim Drummond and Graham Dempster, Tayport arrived, with the lads glad to see the ice shift, they went on to the loch expecting the fish to be deep down and were astonished to find that they were taking their flies of the surface, Graham getting 4 for 7lbs and Jim only wanting one was happy with his at 2lbs, however as the week then progressed the fish did go deeper into the loch as the temperatures dropped, Mr Dunn, Glenrothes got 2 and returned 2 for 5lbs and Colin Laird Markinch had 3 for 6lbs returning 4, using a green Goldhead, Rab Anderson Lundin Links had 3 for 5lbs as did A Edwards Perth, Master Iain Clark, Newburgh, on his first ever fishing trip had 1 for 2 lbs using a Montanna well done, this was after he had lost several due to just not quite getting his strike right, Iain fishing from the bank had a great time and the afternoon just flew past, his fish was well earned, This weekend past saw a really cold couple of days and the fish much harder to catch that is until you found where they were Allan Montgomery Bankfoot returned 5 using an orange fritz and James Hamilton Dumfermilne had 3 for 9lbs returning 5 all on Montana and all from the bank.
The average catch per angler since 01/01/06 is still 5
