Week ending 23/01/06 goldenloch
Fish rising to the fly in January, who would believe it, but yes Saturday saw some great sport fishing, everyone on the loch had full bags and returned at least 3 fish each, the best fishing was from the bank, Mr W Croll, East Wemyss had what could only be described as an absolutely brilliant day with catches from every jetty and the grass, the fish just rose and went for his flies, black and green seemed to be the preferred colours keeping him company was Mr K Mackie, Kirkcaldy who didn’t quite catch as much but did catch enough to keep him busy, on the boats Mr D Baird, Kingskettle had 5 with 3 at 6lbs and M Smith, Scone 3 for 7.5lbs returning 2, Saturday was very mild and flat calm Sunday saw a breeze and a much cooler day, the fish were a lot slower to come up early morning but by 11am things were similar to the previous day, Mr D Allen, Newburgh using lures had 3 for 6.5lbs, David Kyle and his brother Daren fishing for a few hours in the afternoon had 3 using cats whiskers, however at the furthest end of the loch Jed Burnett and Bobby Cox both from Dundee were having a great day using Damsel Shipman’s losing count of the fish that they were catching the two lads decided to just sit back with there feet up and enjoy the day, With the water absolutely moving with very small insects especially small green beetles its not surprising that the fish are feeding hard.
The average catch per angler since 01/01/06 is 5
