Week ending 31/10/05 goldenloch
With a water temperature drop of 4 degrees in the last few days winter has definitely arrived at the Goldenloch, the fishing has changed yet again as the fish are much deeper, with the water crystal clear the fish can be seen darting around especially when anglers are using yellow dancers and consett budgies, however getting them on the hook is very trying as they seem to be more interested in playing with the flies rather than actually taking them, Mr T White, Anstruther had caught 9 fish but only managed to get 1 in the boat, very frustrated he returned again and this time using smaller traditional wet flies landed 3 for 9lbs and his mate Mr J Tarvit ,Anstruther had 3 for 6lbs, Getting as much pleasure from the sport of fishing is what we enjoy seeing at the Goldenloch, and some people really do push themselves to the limit, last week during what has to have been the windiest, wettest day for years, 2 hardy lads braved the elements and had what they described as there best days fishing ever, with both returning everything they caught using floating lines, small nymphs and buzzers the lads exclaimed that they wished every days fishing should be like that, Another lad that enjoyed himself tremendously was Jim Wilson, Dalgety Bay, who was fishing in exactly the opposite conditions, a near flat calm, with a slight drizzle of rain, in one long drift from the far end to the boat harbour, he caught and released 9 fish in 9 casts, Jim a regular was extremely pleased with his achievement, then proceeded to help two young lads to catch a few, a true sports man.
