Week ending 01/08/05 goldenloch
Anglers at the Goldenloch have had a really good weekend despite the cold east wind that started on Saturday afternoon, beginners the young Master Fenton’s aged 9 & 11 from Newburgh managed 3 for 7.5lbs using Kate McLarens also Miss Billy Houston 14, from Somerset with her non fishing uncle had 3 for 7lbs using a single Diawl Bach, Mario Polese, Ladybank had his best day ever by catching 3 and losing a few using buzzers, however his usual buddy was on holiday and did not witness his happy day, Jim Drummond from Wormit on a very bright day had 3 for 6lbs Jim was well pleased with his catch exclaimed he had lost so many as the fish were just playing with his flies and soft nibbling them, In the past week a dozen plus brownies have been caught all about the 1.5lb mark every one giving a really good fight as they have well formed fins and tails, these were the brownie fingerlings that were put in last Easter and have been in hiding ever since, getting interesting is the fact that many of the larger fish of which their are plenty can be seen torpedoing around the loch surface, what they are chasing or doing is still a mystery and anglers are having a huge amount of fun trying all sorts of tactics to entice them onto a line, occasionally managing to catch some but usually ending up losing it seems to be the norm.
